Upcoming Event June 2024: We’re Going Global Intercultural Generations Project – “Bonding through Business”
As part of our Trust wide mission to make education purposeful and outward facing, we are launching a series of intercultural, international projects that support our children and staff to connect with peers and colleagues from around the world. Part of our mission at Achievement through Collaboration Trust is to support our schools in raising the experiences of our pupils by making education hold a “real” place in the world.
We have partnered up with Pilgrims College in Argentina, commonly referred as Pilgrims’, which is a private, co-educational, Catholic school located in the residential neighbourhood of San Isidro, Buenos Aires, and blends a rigorous academic curriculum with strong extracurricular activities. The school’s headmaster, Alberto Berro, is a board member of the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (UCA) and the school is a founding member of the English Speaking Scholastic Association of the River Plate (ESSARP), International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), currently offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and A-Levels. The School also offers international exams such as BEC, FCE, and PET.
Like our schools, Pilgrims is a Google school and uses the Google workspace to offer a highly academic and supportive curriculum for all of its pupils. Bowland High school, one of our secondary schools, will be collaborating on a project called ‘Bonding through Business’ which allows students in year 10 studying Business and Spanish to participate in the project that will take place in June. The aim is for students from both countries to be bi-lingual in the communications throughout the project, including a formally assessed section of the GCSE business studies exam which will be presented to leaders from both organisations. We see this as an academically challenging and aspirational project for students who will work with their Global peers to better understand generational perspectives in the business world.
As with all educational opportunities, we hope to form a successful global partnership here that will facilitate further work in other areas of the curriculum and we are excited to see how our students are able to connect and collaborate with their international partners to move business forward and gain a broader perspective of the world.
