Achievement through Collaboration and Kingsbridge EIP SCITT deliver high-quality, school-centred initial teacher education through a partnership model that has been developed over more than two decades.
Kingsbridge EIP SCITT, traces its origins to 2005 when a group of Headteachers from successful primary and secondary schools came together to address local teacher recruitment challenges. United by a shared commitment to improving outcomes for children, they established the Kingsbridge Education Improvement Partnership with a clear mission: to recruit, train, and support outstanding teachers while strengthening the local education workforce.
Following the closure of the Graduate Teacher Programme in 2013, Kingsbridge continued its work as an Initial Teacher Education Employment-Based Initial Teacher Training (EBITT) provider, building a strong reputation for developing high-quality teachers through close collaboration with schools. After receiving a second consecutive Outstanding judgement from Ofsted, Kingsbridge became part of Community First Academy Trust in 2017, further strengthening its capacity to deliver exceptional teacher training.
In response to growing workforce needs, Kingsbridge became an approved apprenticeship training provider on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP) in 2018, delivering the Level 6 Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship. Since then, the programme has expanded across multiple local authorities, creating sustainable teacher training hubs and supporting schools to develop and retain talented teachers through a “grow your own” approach.
In February 2025 as part pf the Community First Academy Trust transfer to Achievement through Collaboration Trust Kingsbridge Teacher Training offers multiple pathways into teaching, including both fee-funded and Salaried Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship routes across the 5–11 and 11–16 age phases. Our fully immersive programme places trainee teachers in the classroom from day one, providing practical experience alongside expert mentoring and academic study.
